The local village, which is a short walk, downhill, has plenty of shops including a fabulous deli, a M&S, a fish van visits on a Tuesday morning, various places to eat and we even have a tattoo parlour! Nearby is a large common popular with dog walkers, along with a great coffee shop and also the closest pub/restaurant which allows dogs in the bar area. We are a seven-minute drive or 40-minute walk from a fast mainline station into central London, the journey is about 40 minutes. Here you will find a small town that has all that you would expect including two large supermarkets, an Everyman cinema and excellent restaurants. Our home and surroundings We live on a small country lane and are surrounded by woodland and fields with a friendly neighbour on one side. We have direct access from our back garden into woodland, which is frequented by local dogwalkers, or you can just cross the lane and explore our own private woodlands and fields. During April and May, you will see the bluebells in their full glory and in June our wildflower meadow is in full bloom. There is a large garden at the rear of the property that is completely secure for the dogs and has a koi pond and natural swimming pool, we also have an outdoor eating area for those odd sunny days. The three guest rooms are all doubles with two en-suite and there is also a family bathroom. We have a large kitchen with a breakfast bar, large dining table and sofa. During October-April we typically use the Everhot (like an AGA) and for the rest of the year there is an induction hob and oven. There is a separate dining room and a large sitting room with open wood fire, TV and bar. We also have two rooms we use to work in that are Zoom friendly with desks etc. If at the end of the day dogs don’t wear you out, then you can make use of our small gym and sauna and then chill out to watch a film in the cinema room. We do have WIFI but the speed, although plenty to stream movies and make zoom calls, is typically circa 7-8MB. We have cleaners who visit weekly.
